Build A Bold Breakfast
Turn breakfast into a bold feast with Boom Bayou Boom-spiced steak, caramelized mushrooms, and runny yolks — a rich, flavorful dish that’s as satisfying as it is simple.
Step 1
Season the Steak — Pat your steaks dry and rub lightly with olive oil. Coat both sides gently with Boom Bayou Boom Cajun Seasoning and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes so the seasoning blooms into the meat.
Step 2
Seat the Steak — Heat a heavy cast-iron skillet just until smoking. Add in one tablespoon of olive oil and one tablespoon of butter. Lay your steak in the pan, searing 3 to 4 minutes per side for a medium-rare cook (adjust for thickness). Remove to rest of a warm plate, tent with foil.
Step 3
Sauté the Mushrooms & Peppers — In the same skillet, add one table spoon of butter. Toss in mushrooms, season lightly with salt and a pinch more of Boom Bayou Boom. Cook until edges caramelize and they release their juices (~4 to 5 minutes). Set aside.
Step 4
Cook the Eggs — Wipe the skillet, leaving a sheen of fat. Add your final tablespoon of butter. Fry eggs sunny-side-up or over-easy so the yolk stays rich and runny. Season with a sprinkle of Boom Bayou Boom instead of plain salt.
Step 5
Plate It Up — Slice your steak against the grain and arrange with mushrooms on the side. Slide eggs over the top so when eating, the yolk mingles with the steak juices. Finish with a little Boom Bayou Boom, fresh herbs, and optional hot sauce or lemon squeeze.
